Projet d'écriture FAWM
Blue Hibou combines the talents of Kim Barlow and Hélène Beaulieu. The duo combines their formal backgrounds and songwriting styles, mixing english and french, banjo, ukulele, classical and electric guitars, country and experimental sounds. Micah Smith rounds out the trio on bass and lap steel guitar. The results are dreamy, magical and melodic.

Filters is a collection of guitar duets composed and/or improvised by Justin Haynes and Helene Beaulieu, recorded in Toronto in May 2014. Unlike their first live recording of through-composed duets for acoustic guitars entitled Magnus Hitch (available at justinhaynes.bandcamp.com), these pieces were heavily edited and mixed with liberal use of digital filters. All the pieces were then strung together into a single 30 minute track of Ambient music which you will hear here.
Magnus Hitch Justin Haynes & Hélène Beaulieu
Guitarists and Composers Justin Haynes (Toronto) & Hélène Beaulieu (Whitehorse) spent a week in August 2013 at a house in Ottawa where, amongst other things, they recorded these original duets named appropriately after knots.
